A man at an editing desk, facing a window overlooking the lake and mountains.

I’m Jules Guarneri, a filmmaker based in Vevey, Switzerland.
I started with ski films before shifting towards narrative projects.
I have worked as a director, cinematographer and editor on documentaries since 2015.

My work explores human stories, often unconventional and quirky, with a particular interest in intimate and personal filmmaking.

Feature films

2027Tant qu’il y aura de la neigeIn editingdirector | editor | cameradop

Growing up with freestyle skiing, I saw the mountains as a place of unlimited freedom and mesmerizing beauty. I spent my teenage years filming my friends hitting jumps and rails around the world. But one day, I started to wonder what it was really all about. Tant qu’il y aura de la neige is a personal quest to find out what happens when the thing you love most becomes something you no longer understand.

Still from Tant qu’il y aura de la neige: a man wearing headphones stands in the snow, with a city skyline behind him.

2021Nostromocameradop

Arrived from France, Olivier lives like Robinson on an island lent to him by indigenous people, 200 km from Yellowknife, the only town in the Canadian Northwest Territories. Three visitors disturb this solitude, by re-enacting, in front of Fisnik Maxville’s camera, the “drama” of the first contact, in which a historically constituted mutual mistrust surfaces.

A small forested island surrounded by the blue waters of a lake.

A man seen from a low angle inside a wooden cabin.

A hooded man looking across the water at dusk.

A man in an orange suit aiming a rifle in the forest.
